Life regrets

I'm back in Australia now

I want to talk about life regrets

A few weeks ago on a Saturday I promised myself I would make a visit to a Pattaya bookshop owner , but I didn't go

There was the owner to see and two long term customers who made me laugh that were going to be there

Unfortunately I just heard the news ,the bookshop owner passed away yesterday, the two long term customers of that Pattaya bookshop did too last week heart attack and accident , how the hell is that not a regret ?

Why didn't I go that Saturday?

I would of seen 3 people I enjoyed being with , all passed in that 3 weeks since

, had I gone there on that Saturday 3 weeks ago they all may not have passed as usually I give people goodluck

My regret , instead I sat in that hotel room drinking those 3 Chang's !!!!

Deep regret

As Frank Sinatra sings "regrets " I had a few "

Do any of you regret that you divorced your wife and left your family behind to come to Thailand or Philippines or Where you escaped to ?

Regrets .....I'm so sad actually

Ok one person pases away ...but 3 in that 3 weeks all under 70..I'm so sorry I said I would be there that Saturday, if I did you all may still be here !

RIP guys, I hope you are all ok

Very suspicious three people you were acquainted with died in a short time frame. This reads like a poor attempt at an alibi. Lawyer up now.

  • He leaves a black cloud wherever he goes.

Well, you still shouldn't have believed him, because he died 2 years ago, not just yesterday

This appears to be a captivating work of fiction.

So as you've said before your a man with many regrets

Leaving your parents with shame on you , let's face it Dad was ashamed of you

Bit late now though isn't it,?

Do you regret that? Letting your parents down

There's some people I should have treated better + some sound advice I should have paid more sincere attention to....

However, that's water under the bridge.....Under reflection I'm less headstrong now & unlikely to to repeat the mistakes of the past...

Oh don't be racist !

Life's too short for regrets, learn and do better the next time.

Georgetta this is a serious one.

Three people gone in three weeks and the only thing missing was your scheduled appearance at the bookshop.

That is not something you can just ignore. Things are clearly very suspect here.

Have you hired a private detective for this yet?

You have said yourself you bring good luck to people.

So if you are not there, things can obviously start going wrong.

Basic pattern.

You stayed in the hotel and had three Changs instead of showing up and stabilizing the situation.

That one decision seems to have had a wide impact.

You would have walked in, said hello, maybe cracked a joke, balance restored.

Instead the whole thing collapsed because you didn't go. Three deaths!

You might need to look at this scientifically.

There could be other variables.

For example, it is possible one badly timed fart in that bookshop set off a chain reaction.

Without you there to counter it with your usual good luck, things spiralled.

Worth analysing.

I would start documenting it.

Dates, times, who was present, what you ate, which toothpaste you used, how many dental clinics in the area with the word "smile" in the clinic name, and any unusual atmospheric conditions.

Build a proper dataset. Full statistical study!

You might be onto something here.

A few more entries and you could establish a clear link between your presence, or absence, and overall survival rates in Pattaya bookshops.

Do not ignore this.

The statistics will be important. Get started now!

Normally, I don't believe a word that Georgie utters. But this one could be true (from 1 week ago) ...

RIP Canterbury Tales bookshop owner David Collier, over 20 years service to the Pattaya community, you always listened to my stories and accepted me , thankyou my friend

We'll meet again ,some sunny day!

I bet you could buy that bookstore for practically nothing.

Imagine basking in a pile of dog eared Tom Clancy novels.

Retirement plan? Sorted.

We must have books on statistics,I mentioned this to the owner when he was alive .

Statistics and data

Did you ever read the book, how to lie with statistics?

It is a classic. You can read it online for free.

I took statistics level three in graduate school at NYU. If you ever want to talk about regression analysis, I would be happy to do it with you.

He was trying to sell the bookshop for a while and was in ill health so not a big surprise

Hi GG. Are you sure that the Ozzie Authorities will let you keep you phone and Social accounts, as they have banned it for under 16s, and those with similar mentality.

I have perfect 20/20 hindsight like most people. If I had it to do all over again, I'd do it differently. But life turned out that way it did. I accept that and learn from the experiences. Regrets? Regret is a waste of emotional energy that's better spent on living in the here and now and enjoying the present moment.

Do try harder. Your fabricated tales are neither amusing nor engaging. You may think you are some great literary wit, but really, a 1st year creative writing major at a community college could do better.

Please make an effort.

My biggest regret of my adult days, is that in 1972 I could have bought a Fender V1 six string bass off Eric Haydock, formerly of the Hollies, and used on all their big hits. I refused it and bought a Mustang.......which I flogged soon after.

And it wasn't until years later that I changed the name of my band to Dance On!
