i have 2 problems

1. Whenever i try to use control panel or see the properties of my computer i am presented with this error

2. whenever i try open a program from the shortcut on the desktop or the start menu , it opens up a "open-with" dialog.

I probably think this has been caused by some viruses that have sneaked through.

i use win XP SP2 ; zone alarm firewall ; ESET NOD32 virus.

i scanned using NOD 32 and it found 1700 infected files but it could not quarantine nor delete the files . same with NORTON AV

(A) One of the programs the executable file run32dll.exe controls is the Control Panel. To restore run32dll.exe:

1. Insert your XP or Win2K installation CD-ROM

2. Go to the command prompt. To get a Command Prompt, (a)click Start-->All Programs-->Accesories or ( Start-->Run-->type cmd and click OK

3. type expand i386rundll32.ex_ %Systemroot%rundll32.exe to extract the version of the file to your system.

4. After you extract the file, restart your machine.
