I have seen videos of both on youtube and they look great. Has anyone seen them up close at the motor show?

Whats your thoughts on them?

I am offshore atm so can't attend the show myself. :(

It's unfair to compare the two prematurely; the Colorado is the more visually stunning of the two but it's a show car and I'm skeptical about how much of this stylized version will survive through to the production truck which is eventually sold. The Ranger will be produced this summer so is an accurate example of what to expect and has already completed comprehensive testing.

Yes very good point, hopefully the final Colorado will not be tractorized like its Isuzu sister to appeal to the farmers.

I saw the Ranger at the Geneva Motorshow and will check the new Colorado in Bangkok, next weeks. Personally I would prefer the Colorado in style, but Thai people don't like the Chevrolet brand (I am not the only person who will decide...).

I am also interested in the new Mazda BT-50. We like this company because of our good experience with the Mazda 3. But the style of the new BT-50 is quite "special" - even though a big improvement comparing tge current model!

Just got back from show the Ranger looks a very nice truck in the flesh, seems big compared to old one?, also the new engine range were on display, the V6 Diesel figures look very impressive.

Here a Picture of the V6 Diesel post-121798-0-68885900-1301047740_thumb.

I agree the new Ranger is certainly larger, more cabin space, better safety and higher ground clearance which struck me as key selling points over the Colarado show car and present Colorado.

Out of interest the Mazda team worked on the new BT-50 at Ford Australia, so certain elements may be shared with the new Ranger, I'm not sure.

Overall the Ranger seems much improved over the old model and when it goes on sale this November, Chevy will sell even less old-style Colorados. As for the next-gen it's too early to tell. In Thailand I would rate Ford and Chevy the same in term of brand appeal and consumer perception. The Ranger edges out even the US Colorado which shares only the name with the Thai Colorado, a GM-Mazda collaboration.

For me the interior and body color are important, Toyota, Isuzu, Chevrolet (current)and especially Nissan have ugly interiors. That's what I have too look at for the time I am traveling. As for the exterior I don't like black because it loses its luster after a few washes and gets very hot. White, the Ford blue and Mitsubishi's red are nice colors. If Mitsubishi still offered the red I would buy one but they have an ugly blue and no white. They have a nice interior also. Toyota would be nice if they offered the Vigo with the same black dash and carbon fiber as the Fortuner TRD Smart. The Vigo interior is well laid out just a hideous color dash.

Good article & pics in an online newspaper motoring section that we are not allowed to mention anymore.

Comments that many of the items such as 20 inch mag wheels and LED lights unlikely to make production.

GM want to get the price right if they are going to take on Toyota and Isuzu.

Ok, a lot written of the cars, but the performence?

Does somebody know the engines power, uts said, the Ranger and BT 50 come with 200 PS as Euro 4, eventual easy to change to 220 PS Euro 3.

The Colorado has?

And is similarity in the weight? You get the strong engine in the lightweight versions=2 door, 2 wheel drive also.

The Vigo 4x4 4 door 163 PS I testdrived long ago, was an elefant I did not like.

I have the fun to drive my GF Vigo, 2 door, 2 wheel drive, lightweight, with the elefants engine which is a sporty performing car.

I still have an ageing Ranger 2003 Limited Top Model these days, has a poor engine, to todays cars.

I still do not even know how much HP he his 2,5 l. Turbo has.

Thanks for any reply.
