KARACHI, PAKISTAN (BNO NEWS) -- Target killings in Karachi, Pakistan between Thursday night and Friday morning amounted to eight, as the death toll climbs to at least 18 people in the last 24 hours, officials said.

In the Korangi area of Karachi, a group of unidentified individuals killed a man, while another was killed in Landhi, the Express Tribune reported. Other killings were reported in Landhi Radio Ground, Dadu Chaurangi and Asif Square areas.

A body was also found near the Kharadar Police Station and another near the Karimabad flyover.

Sindh police's Crime Investigation Department said it had arrested three suspected target killers, who were identified as Rao Muhammad alias Grenade, Nadeem Khan alias Rickshaw and Babar Ali. However, local authorities have been unable to curb the continuously rising violence.

The three detained individuals were described as hired killers and members of the Mudasir Langra group, confessing to have killed at least 30 people in Karachi.
