Buying A Rescued Dog

Featured Replies

I'm under house arrest for the next 4-6 months and would like to buy a toy or lap dog for company in the future as my movements are very restricted.

I've had dogs in Oz & the UK, the last was a beautiful Cavalier KC Spaniel.

Any idea where I go to see/purchase a rescued dog? (the smaller, the better)

My house is large with fenced gardens.

Put some food out and you will have several hanging around. You do not even need the bar fine this one.

I don't need a mongrel, the crazy old cow next door has 14 of the filthy bastards.

Her soi dogs led to a 130,000B+ hospital bill and my confinement to a fking wheelchair and Zimmer since Aug 22. :o

Can we take it you are not a mongrel dog lover then?

There is a big dog pound at Putta Monthon.

But I suspect that it will be difficult to find

a SMALL breed of dog that has been Rescued ...

THEY are probably eaten by the bigger breeds

before they can be Rescued.

What's with the *Rescued* angle anyway

- Low Price?

Many shopping malls have outlets selling small dogs.

Beware buying puppies as most breeders here are not careful about their breeding stock and you could end up with a dog with congenital defects. If you are lucky and the dog does not have defects it will be seriously ill with all sorts of dog diseases (kennel cough etc). Try posting in classifieds here on thaivisa and in the phuketgazette online, pattaya mail etc. There are often people with dogs that need homes and you may have a better chance of getting a healthy dog.

Hi Roger, No! I figured any expat with half a brain would try to find a good home for his/her pet at a good rescue centre. Some expats and families get tranfered at short notice.

Price doesn't come in to it, a good toy dog can be bought from a breeder for about 3KB

I'm not in a position to start training a puppy....... yet. :o

Thanks for replying.
