March 27, 201115 yr I read a few weeks ago that the lifeguard service had been suspended on all beaches because the contract had not been renewed. Is this still the case? The un-seasonal stormy weather and large waves over the next few days will surely lead to incidents in the water. Let's hope the authorities have resolved this otherwise people will be pointing the finger after the first drowning...
March 27, 201115 yr The beach chair guy's are putting the rip current signs out at the moment but as usual no one is taking a blind bit of notice of them. With these strong tides at the moment it's only a matter of time as it's school holidays and the thai kids love to swim at the lagoon end of Nai Harn and the water is flowing very fast. It's just accident waiting to happen
March 27, 201115 yr Author I see the jet ski mobs ventured out late morning. I guess it's an opportunity for them; accident = more money
March 27, 201115 yr I sure it would be all over the Phuket Gazette and here if there had been a new contract signed. It took a while to get a new contract last year, if I remember.... Edited March 27, 201115 yr by Jimi007
