My friend's 9 month old has a really large cyst in his brain, and needs a major surgery. Whats the best place in Bangkok, nearby, and in general? He'll be looking for a second opinion, mybe 3rd, after going to Sumkhimvit Sumikevej and currently waiting for a diagnosis from Chulangonkorn.

Someone recommended Bangkok Nusery Home is pretty good - anyone heard anything about them? (never heard of them before)

You probably mean BNH which used to be known as Bangkok Nursing Home a few years ago. They are now called simply BNH and have a website at:

http://www.bnhhospital.com

There is also Bumrungrad hosp. in Bangkok. Goodluck.

Google 'Children's hospital portland oregon' and you will find links for a hospital in the US....if you contact them they may have a referal service world wide.

oh yeah - Doernbeckers ... I'm from Portland. good hospital. (should hve thought of it myself!)
