Sending Cremation Ashes To The Us

Featured Replies

I need to send my father's cremation ashes in a tin urn to both my brother and sister and am wondering if it is legal to send by thaipost or FEDEX??

Anyone know??

Probably not relevant, but if they can wait until June, I can carry them as far as Seattle.

Not sure of the legality, but I'd have room in my bag for something small (that I could identify) and wouldn't bother me.

Just a thought.

Thanks for the offer JM......very nice of you to offer. I have done a little reseach on 'transporting cremation ashes' and google tells me that it's up to the airlines......all have different rules, but FEDEX won't and have yet to check with Thai Postal. Not sure if it's 'superstition' or just liability, but I look at it as just ashes.......Pop is 'gone' and only his ashes remain.......but brother and sister want their fair share. My share of the ashes is simple and I will throw them into the Maekhong river next week and feel 'closure'.
