This list is terrible, it looks like a marketing ploy to get people to go to N America. Is it really necessary to

list Florida 4 times. Trip advisor have sold out to the big corporations.

not been to all of these but what about :

Bali or Gili Isles (Indonesia)

Bonsai Beach- (Australia)

Many on Samui, Phuket or Ko lipe etc

Bay of Islands (New Zealand, not strictly a single beach but take yer pick!)

Goa (India)

South Carolina at number 6 surely a picture speaks a 1000 words lol

Suggestions anyone?

That is a terrible picture at #6!!!

Some Thai beaches I'd add to the list include Koh Ngai, Ao Phai on Koh Samet, Koh Lipe, Railey Bay and Maya Bay on Koh Phi Phi.

Further afield I'd stick in Mirrissa and Unawatuna beaches in Sri Lanka, Arambol beach in Goa and Occeuteal beach in Cambodia.

That's a pretty bizarre list. Cape May, New Jersey rates higher than the Maldives??

Was that list created April 1 or something?

My guess would be Bondi Beach not Bonsai

yes it depends where the survey is done. Tripadvisor is 30% right.

I hate to be biased but checkout Meelup Beach rd Dunsborough WA Australia

You can have a whole beach to yourself.

A poorly disguised attempt to push the resort destinations mentioned with scant regard to the actual best beaches of the world. Before the internet we believed Conde Nast et al but now we know their bluster is largely bull and mere marketing garbage.

That's what I thought, but I wouldn't have Bondi in the top 25 in Australia, let alone the world...

Agreed, methinks the people at tripadvisor need to take a few trips.

They never heard of Australia or Vietnam.

... or Brazil?

And of all the Thai beaches, they chose Samui's sphincter???!!!

They really be trippin'

If you click on "Asia" you get about 6 Thai beaches, Vietnam, etc.

Tripadvisor ranks based on user reviews, so you can input your choices.

The list is mmmmmmmmmmmm laugh.gif

Just got back from Phuket a few weeks ago. Now Phuket, and the surrounding area are some of the best I have seen .

For Cape May ( And i lived in this area for some time)blink.gif, and Myrtle to make the list is laughable. Take the golf courses out of the equation as I think that had to of played a hug part in the Myrtle beach placing. I guess as we called it the tri state region congregates to Cape may as nothing else is closer, thus the ranking, who knows. You could of tossed Newport, RI on the list if you are going to put Myrtle!

Its a golf thing is it :(

I know someone who goes back to the same golf course in Portugal every year. Hes a stockbroker in London, could go anywhere in the world. I'm with Winstin Churchhill on this one (as in golf ruins a good walk lol).

Funny how a high % of people will go back to the same place forever, its not real travelling is it.

Yeah Bondi beach would go close to topping even Thailand for some of the filthiest overcrowded beaches full of dirty filthy stinking low class tourists on the planet and is far from beautiful. Theres probably a thousand beaches in Australia that would top Bondi, some of which would also well and truely top many on this list......pfffft! rolleyes.gif

I was going to be constructive and suggest some better ones, but I'd hate to see extra people @ them laugh.gif

PM me Neverdie I promise I won't tell anyone where the portal is.

Personally- beaches should have rain forest down to the sand line, be roughly SW facing(like my garden), have swimable coral and nearby islands and be far from the dirty mainland, o and a small bar set back somewhere with chilled beer+dub reggae B):D
