Am planning a trek and need a few things like Coolmax socks and lightweight synthethic zip off cargo's.

The large sports shop on one of the upper levels of Central Festival has a reasonable selection, from lightweight shoes to waterproof jackets with thermal liners. They also have a small selection of tents. I did a winter walking holiday in the Chiang Mai area a couple of years ago, and the wife and I got everything we needed at Central.
