I just joined Metrobank this past Monday at the Tottenham Court Road branch in central London. Today I purchased an air ticket using the Mastercard debit card on Thai Airways website and received an effective rate of 49.03 (checked the UK amount on my online banking), the rate showing on XE is 49.17. I have read of some problems using the card abroad but at least the rate looks good. :-)

Don't believe all that you read....I had no problems when using the card abroad.

If you use inside the bank with a passport you should avoid the 150 bts fee. I will join them on my return to the UK
