justaphase
My new apartment has blocked the use of torrents on their wi-fi. When double-clicking the torrent link on a website it just opens my homepage. I thought i'd got around it by going to the internet shop and saving a load of files on my flash drive.. Hey presto!! Ok!!.. But then when utorrent tried to connect with peers it couldnt establish a connection. Any ideas..?
H2oDunc
Instead of clicking on the torrent link, right click it and choose " open with " and select your torrent manager ?
Laawman
You could try a torrent client like Deluge with full encryption enabled, but somehow I think you may well be stuffed! The only other options I can think of are trying a file hosting forum like bolt.org, or perhaps signing up for a newsgroup account as most of these have SSL encryption. prism
I'd try using an VPN. I use StrongVPN and it works fine. You get added security too.
justaphase
I see. and only $7 a month. Would they be able to tell if i was using it..?
Crossy
I see. and only $7 a month. Would they be able to tell if i was using it..? They do much cheaper packages if you front up for a year ($55). They would likely see that you're using a VPN but exactly WHAT you're doing will be totally secure.
haveaniceday
Could you use these same tricks to get around the torrent ban from TOT ?
