Songkran begins in earnest at Nong Nooch and Central Pattaya

PATTAYA: -- Pattaya Mayor Ittipol was the guest of honour, along with a few other local dignitaries, at the Nong Nooch Gardens tourist attraction on Wednesday as part of a dual celebration: the start of the Songkran festival and the third birthday of one of Nong Nooch’s elephants. The day started with the standard set of speeches and a parade by people in traditional costume, some of whom were aboard elephants.
