Blueeyes1999uk
I have been asked by a friend who has cataracts in both eyes if any of the hospitals in the area specialize in cataract removal. I have heard the Sametvij in Sri Racha have a good specialist, does anyone have any experience of this hospital or indeed any others? Many thanks in advance. sattahip
You might Google "Rutnin Hospital" in Bangkok. It is an eye hospital.
redwood13
Do search for "cataracts" on thaivisa's Health, Body and Medicine Forum. Here's a recent discussion: -redwood
Sheryl
Hands down, Rutnin best and worth the trip to BKK.
ericg1953
Agree with Sheryl...Rutnin is the best...For all of those in Pattaya..getting to Rutnin is now very easy and inexpensive. You can board the VIP bus that leaves from the Foodmart parking lot in Jomtien every 2 hours and it will take you to the airport in 90 minutes for 124 baht. Then head down to the lower level in the airport to the new raliway link to the city(there are signs everywhere)...buy a token for 35 baht to the Makassan station and you can walk to Rutnin from there( about a 5-10 minute walk)...So about 150 baht all in...2 hr trip and you dont have to sit in any BKK traffic Edited April 16, 2011 by ericg1953
