Garmin Nuvi 1450Lm

Featured Replies

I have been given this GPS unit as a birhtday gift. Should I buy the Citi Navigator SE Asia NT or get the latest version TSM map? The Garmin map is 99.00 USD. I will use this GPS to drive from Bangkok to Sa Kaeo, Khon Kaen, Chiang Mai, etc. Having junction view is not critical for me. Recommendations? Thanks!

Thailand Street Map (TSM), V11 is a better choice.

If I understand correctly, you using the TSM version map on your Garmin nuvi 1250 and you paid 5900 baht for the map. This is twice the price of the Garmin CitiNavigator map but I will buy the TSM map if is that much better.

Ok, it is the better choice but the more expensive one too, 5900 baht (per poster jodar) vs 3000 baht (99 USD). I will get the TSM, V 11 and Thanks!

The last time I checked, the ESRI Thailand map cost 2,000 baht. This is a better map than the Garmin SEA map and also cheaper. Morris at Eagle GPS in Chiang Mai is very helpful and can fix you up via email and or EMS for shipping. The junction view will work only on some Garmin units designed and sold in Thailand.

The 5,900 baht price includes the Garmin 1250 unit.

Correct, the Thailand Street Map costs 2,000 baht from dealers in Thailand. Updates cost 450 baht from the GPSsociety website. V11 is the latest version. Be sure to request the map be supplied on microSD menory card, ESRI normally sends a CD and you have to install the map file yourself. Caution: The CD will overwrite the GPS internal memory and you could lose the original map if not careful. You will need to provide the GPS S/N and Unit ID# to order an original ESRI map.

Thanks, this is good stuff to know. One last question. Does the TSM have a Thai language option so I can toggle back and forth between English and Thai?

As a general rule only Garmin GPS units purchased in Thailand have Thai language capabilities from the ESRI Thailand Street Map (TSM).

Thanks. I will bring my 1450 along, get the TSM maps installed, and also buy a 1250 here in Thailand.
