I appreciate these posts regarding the weather must get bit boring but for those of us coming out for just 2 weeks its soooooo important ..

I arrive phuket 6th May and just wondering how the weather is looking this week ??

Why not use google and find a weather forecast site?

You won't find a meteorologist here.

1st May is the "official" start of the rainy season.

Could be raining, could be sunny. Very changeable weather in May.

I can state with some certainty that it will be hot.

may 6-10 will be 32 degrees and clear with a few scattered clouds

may 11 will rain between 9 and 11am, about 10mm, sorry can't be exact, maybe 12mm

may 12 -13 will be clear and warm again, 34.5 degrees on Patong beach at 2pm

Im not looking for a meteorologist either, just someone who lives in phuket who can give me better idea, is it likely to rain for hours on end or just short time?

Perhaps my questions are impossible to answer since the weather has been bit crazy of late ? just after an honest opinion off someone who has experienced the weather this time of year in Phuket before

any proper help would be much appreciated,

Yes, that's quite typical for this time of year. A mixture of sun, clouds, and rain. Much like today. If it rains then it will likely only be for a half hour or so. Today it rained overnight (about 02.00) quite heavy for a short time. Dry all day. Mostly sunny, but with many clouds.

Fair comments from most, but the fact is that the weather here can be unpredictable; three or four weeks ago, we had unseasonal heavy rains every day for nearly a week. I think the point that the tongue-in-cheek posters were trying to make is that the weather can be a bit of a lottery for travelers.

The locked topic at the beginning of the Phuket Forum is as accurate a weather forecast as you are going to get

Phuket has micro climates. It can be pouring rain a few km's away and lovely somewhere else. It was a beautiful day out today, a bit hot at almost 35º, but the sunset was beautiful while I was floating in the upper 28 something degree Adaman Sea water... The weather's hit and miss, but this is one of my favorite times of the year here. After Songkran, it's not so busy.... Although there has been some Dengue around, bring your mosquito repellent along...
