Train Bangkok To Aranya Pratet

Featured Replies

Hi

I'm flying FTP bkk tommorow then getting train to aranya pratete to cross the border at poipet then travel on wards to Siam reap not sure how far from the fighting this is am I likely to encounter any problems

many thanks

You shouldn't have any problem regarding the fighting. I would recommend you take the bus from Morchit rather then the train unless you have some particular reason for taking the train. Have you crossed at Aran/Poipet before?

Are you sure that the border is open? I would think the first thing a country does when having border skirmishes is to close the border....... :whistling:

I have got myself visa for Camb. in Bangkok a few times. Very straight forward and quick at the embassy.

About 20 minutes. You will need a photo and a copy of your passport. The cost roughly 1000 THB.

The emb. is not centrally located, its up on Ramkamheng Soi 39 or thereabouts.

btw,

the train from BKK to AranyaPrathet takes ages,

a bus from Ekamai is much quicker, some of the buses go to the Rongklua Market, say 150 to 200 meters from the border.
