BEIJING, CHINA (BNO NEWS) -- Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard on Monday arrived in Beijing, China to begin her first and four-day official visit to the Asian country.

Gillard arrived at the invitation of Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao, who she will meet on Tuesday, before her scheduled gathering with Chinese President Hu Jintao.

Among her activities, Gillard will be attending the China-Australia Economic and Trade Cooperation Forum together with Chinese Vice Premier Li Keqiang. The two countries are expected to enter economic and human rights talks, as well as discuss climate change and regional diplomatic relations.

GIllard just wrapped up her trip to South Korea, where she entered military cooperation agreements with the country's President Lee Myung-bak, as they are planning to increase regular talks between the countries' defense ministries.
