Andy76 Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 Hi Guys, A friend of mine told me that I would need a teaching license in order for me to teach photography in my own freetime or privately. Is this true? I know that there is a Photography School of Asia here, which I assume doesn't have a license to teach it, as its private. Andy
IanForbes Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 If you are talking about Thailand then I believe you need a work permit to earn money in ANY sort of business. However, I would guess it's possible to charge somone for you time if you don't advertise. But, I would be very careful without the work permits. I"m not sure it there is a high demand for teaching photography in Thailand. The average Thai doesn't earn enough to take lessons and the few expats already have their life figured out.
noise Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 The average Thai doesn't earn enough to take lessons and the few expats already have their life figured out. And, as Ian knows, there are Thai and expat photo clubs here in CNX where anyone and everyone can get all the instruction they need or want along with help in learning all the computer photo processing programs for free. Teaching for money does not sound like a expat business opportunity to me, either.
