April 28, 201114 yr Hi Guys: are there grammar teachers out there? I heard of a job which requires a grammar specialist. Is this because the established teachers know how students loathe grammar? This would be for grades 7-9 and be my first teaching job here. Thanks, Chris
April 28, 201114 yr Hmmmmmm. This be your first teaching job? (Sorry, can't resist shooting fish in a barrel.)
April 28, 201114 yr OK I'll shoot first. OP, if you are unsure about teaching grammar you should seriously consider taking a TEFL BEFORE attempting such a thing. There are many teachers who have a good grasp of English grammar, but get totally stumped when trying to convey it to L2 students (both adults and children). Just my bullet and 2 bahts worth. :jap:
April 28, 201114 yr I know a few people, but very few, that have a comprehensive understanding of grammar. Grammar is difficult to teach for the average teacher. Best of luck.
April 28, 201114 yr Author Point taken. To get back to the original question, there are such unfortunate teachers who exclusively have to teach L2 grammar? Just wondering. Regards - Chris
