Hello guys, I've been reading the forums a bit but there isn't so much information on those of us with ED visas, so I'm just looking for verification from you more experienced people.

I currently have a single entry ED visa that will expire on Oct. 31. My flight out of BKK is currently Dec. 24. I'll be studying until then.

I plan on visiting Cambodia this weekend.

Is it feasible to cross at Poipet, get a cambodian visa on arrival, visit Siam Reap, and then re enter Thailand through Poipet on a 30 day visa on arrival?

I'm a US passport holder, btw.

If I dress appropriately on the way out and in will the Thai border ask questions about why I had an ED visa, and now I'm coming in as a tourist and still leaving on Dec 24th? Or do they understand what is going on?

Do I need any Thai specific forms that I will not be able to get the immigration office there? Or should the visa on arrival forms be there?

I will be bringing cambodian visa forms, 8 passport pictures, a copy of my flight out of BKK.

Anything else? I also plan on entering Cambodia Monday, how are the lines then? How about exiting Cambodia Thursday?

Also, how much space on a visa does a cambodian entry, and exit take? Is it just a quarter of a page?

What about the 30 day on arrival Thai visa? Just a quarter too?

And while we're on how much space, what about a Vietnam on arrival visa? Just a quarter (or more?)

Unfortunately, I just realized I have only 1 page completely blank visa page, but 12 or so quarters of pages littered about.

Will that be enough if I'm considering about going to Vietnam say a day after I return from Cambodia, and I won't have enough time to get amended pages?

Thanks any help would be appreciated.

Vietnam has a full-page visa, and there is no "on arrival" available for a US citizen. You need to get the visa prior to flying. The VN Embassy is on Wireless Road, a couple hundred yards before you get to the US Embassy. They are close enough to each other to have a firefight if need be.

Cambo is also a full page.

If you just go to the US Embassy you can get pages added with the only cost being an hour or so of your time.

Good luck and have fun.

Your education institution isn't going to be too pleased with you studying with no visa at all.
