Young Malaysian teen gang-raped after meeting Facebook 'friend'

KUALA LUMPUR (BNO NEWS) -- A young Malaysian teenager was gang-raped by nine men on Saturday after she wanted to meet up with a person she met through the social networking website Facebook, local media reported on Friday.

The Star newspaper reported that the 14-year-old girl had met a man on Facebook and slipped out without her parents' permission on Saturday to meet him. When they met up, they decided to go to someone's house in the Malaysian capital of Kuala Lumpur with another man who drove them there.

When the girl and the men arrived at the house, three other men were waiting for them. One of them hugged and kissed the girl as she entered the house and, even though she tried to push him away, he continued to force himself on her and raped her.

One of the men eventually called four other friends to join in, and when they arrived the group of nine took turns to rape the girl. The assault continued throughout the day.

The young girl later managed to escape when the men took her to a local restaurant for dinner, The Star reported. Eight suspects have been arrested as of Friday.
