Have you noticed that except for the food outlets that about 80% of central is dedicated to ladies. I am trying to stop my wife from going so often as she never comes back with any money.

A bit disappointed in Tops as initially they had a big bang with lots of things and now many of them are out and when you ask if there is going to be any more, my ru! Notice the large space just past the fresh section which is toiletry. I feel like we are being let down. Thank god for MacDonalds and Sizzler.

Besides these issues Central is good for Chiang Rai and this time looks nicer on the inside than when the first opened. I sure like the underground parking lot and the banks being there. It saves a lot of time.

I agree with you Don.

I think a lot of our local members will refrain from posting on this topic due to a few instigators that attack anyone that expresses an opinion that those bullies disagree with, or if they can nit-pick at anything in the post.

Fortunately, they have drawn enough attention to themselves lately to be noticed.

Hope this CR forum will get back to a decent place to share information, ask questions, and share a friendly laugh.

First sentence is relevant to the OP.

The rest appears to be bait to get some sledging going with the crowd you have referenced.

Pots and kettles ( staying on the subject are both available at Topps and are unisex)

Certainly seems the case Don. Certain food items seem to be disappearing very fast never to be replaced. However CM noted that

his cheese eventually returned to the shelf lets hope it is an order / supply issue. Have the same issue in other stores so why not here?

Not sure about other product areas.

KinoMax you seem to be looking to bait people with useless and bait comments. As has just been said yours have no relevance to the topic so

crawl back in your hole and let us enjoy the fruitfulness of our forum, not the fruit flies.

I really hate the way they throw everybody out of Tops at 9 o'clock.

Considering their late opening and early closing, one would think that they wouldn't get rid of their customers so fast.

Last night they locked the front doors sharply at 9, shutters came down in Tops and I felt as if I was in a bar after closing time.

To make matters worst everybody had to leave by the rear car park and I had an awful job trying to cross the road with all the traffic exiting at the same time.

The Japanese restaurants are good, the Sizzler not up to snuff (or BKK standard), and Micky Ds

doesn't open up early enough to serve their only decent sandwich, the Egg McMuffin.

If you go on a motorbike, you must park it in the sun and rain, clearly being but

a 2nd or 3rd class person of no ecoonomic consequence... and the bookstore has almost

exactly nothing in English.

Guess I won't bother to go into the consequences for our other, fairly pathetic restaurants...

I think its fairly safe to say that fears of CR becoming another CM remain unfounded.

All things considered I think our little mall is great. Just got back from Chiang Mai and though Central there is bigger and has more stuff, I find it a far less inviting place to go.

To be fair, our mall is new and at the far end of newly extended supply chain. They no doubt source most things through third parties and have that delay to consider in addition to their own transportation costs of getting things up here to this remote outpost.

Even with local produce at Makro there are good days and bad. Plug exotic imports into the equation and restocking is going to take some time and effort to get right.

Much of what we may pine for simply won’t be profitable for them to stock regularly or in any quantity. We will just have to keep an eye out for new shipments. Their computers will tell them what is worth stocking and what is not. They are a business after all.

Personally I like the fact that there aren’t too many people walking around the place but it can’t be great for the shops. With this level of traffic, one can hardly justify longer opening hours and the additional costs that would be incurred.

Of course others are free to have a different opinion but I think we are much better off than we were a couple of months ago. Count me in as one of the happy mall rats. :)

I consider Central to be a BONUS to my living. Nothing necessary but nonetheless nice to have around. I could wish for more but it is all gravy.:)

I was surprised that Big C is still as busy as it is.B)

SUrprisingly enough I have to agree with both of your statements 100%, especially Big C still being so busy. Scary....

..... and VF hit the nail on the head with telling everyone, yet again but it takes many times for it to sink in with some, that it is a

business and will stock what sells in suitable quantities.

I disagree about Central CM not being as inviting per se' but I enjoy being able to walk around Central CR without the crowds but as he says

not so good for the shops which can have a domino effect in the future.

We found it very pleasant this afternoon to stroll - and buy - in the coolness of the centre. Sometimes you just need a bit of relief from the May claminess. Also noted that there are now at least 4 disabled car parking spots and upstairs by 'Mr. Donut" (?) there are now two very nice wheelchairs and a baby pram to borrow if you have the need. We have also found that the fruit and veg. stalls downstairs offer really tasty quality stuff, and that places such as 'เอา เอา' (who have shops elsewhere in the town), haven't put their prices up just because of their location.
