I was fascinated though not surprised that Bin Laden lacked internet connectivity. I understand the reasons, he was trying to avoid being tracked. However, my curious mind wonders COULD he have had internet connected to his Abbottabad lack of pleasure palace and managed through all the tools available to techies to kept his internet doings and location private? Obviously he was caught, but would he have been caught much earlier if he couldn't resist the net connection and had good technical advise?

If he'd had good technical advice and encrypted all his communications that would have been an even worse red flag. The resources this guy was up against were such that living in a cave in Afghanistan without internet was the only sensible thing to do.

Hence he is dead.

he could have done it safely by "piggybacking", i.e. he could have used an access that belonged to someone else.

He could have surfed the net, but he wouldn't be able to use the net for communications - too dangerous.

Perhaps. But it seems to me there still may have been a technical way to make it look like he was connecting from a Jack in the Box in Sheyboygan.

there's not one but many ways to do that. only those filled to the brim with naiveté believe in the fairy tales "no TV, no internet but in charge of al-Qaeda".

Didn't the video show him watching TV??

Yes, the house had tv, not sure whether it was cable or not. I don't see the point though. That's not the same thing at all as an isp. Or maybe he was just watching recordings coming in? In any case, not related at all to internet.
