ISLAMABAD (BNO NEWS) -- A roadside bomb on Saturday hit a passenger bus in the eastern Pakistani province of Punjab, killing at least six people and wounding several others.

According to Pakistan's the Nation, police official Rashid Ahmed said the attack happened near Kharian, a garrison town about 75 miles (125 kilometers) southeast Islamabad. The bus was traveling from the city of Gujrat to Kharian.

The attack comes a day after twin suicide blasts at a Frontier Constabulary (FC) training camp in northwest Pakistan killed at least 87 people and injured over 100 others.

According to reports, the two blasts came from a suicide bomber riding an explosive-filled motorcycle, while the second came from planted explosives on a horse cart.

Pakistan's Tehreek-e-Taliban on Friday claimed responsibility for the blast, marking the first major attack in revenge for the U.S. raid that killed al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden.

Pakistani Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani strongly condemned Friday's blasts, expressing deep sorrow and grief over the loss of lives. He said the militants had no regard for human life or religion, as they pursue their own agenda. He also reiterated the government's commitment to fight militancy.
