Hi-In my Dell X300 laptop the DVD player/recorder is a Phillips CDD 5263 and will not play DVD,s from Thailand as it is set up to play region 2 only-is it possible to change the setting so I can play both-region free? I have a Dell Inspiron 1300 and the setting in here says current region-not selected-I can play both UK and Thai DVDS on this.

The easiest way to solve this issue whch will also let you make backups of your movies should you so desire is to install AnyDVD

On your computer you can change the region but it only allows this to be done about 5 times.

An easy solution to all this is to go to: http://www.dvdidle.com/dvd-region-free.htm and use their program.
