Hi, finally in the last stages of moving to the LOS, plan to depart Oz 7th/14th Feb 04 as by my calculations this should place me in the 200000 basket when I apply for a 1 year extension?

Would appreciate comment/advice on airline tickets, initially planned to purchase a 1 year ticket but have been advised by our friendly travel agent SIA will not extend it over the one year period?(know any airlines that do?).

Have explored a 35 day promotional fare with SIA some $250 per person cheaper than the one year (hang the return portion) but of course this means we will not hold valid return tickets when applying for the extension.

What is the standard procedure from people who are going thru this hoop??

Assume from the 200k you mention that this will be an extension based on support and that you will apply for it early May before the scheduled increase in requirements. As for air ticket as long as you have a visa there is no requirement by the airlines that you have a return ticket (it is travel without visa that they fear).

A visa extension is done here in Thailand and there is no requirement for any tickets of any kind. What is required is your wife, that you support her, that she lives with you, you have photos (just together in home :o ) and can provide the bank book/letter and answer some questions.

Absolutely no ticket requirements by Australian or Thai Authorities if you have a visa for Thailand. Mijan, I am assuming that you have already got a Non-Immigrant O visa from Australia.

That red stuff that your region is famous for should have kept the heat away ( or you mightn't have felt it if you partook of sufficient quantity )

:D Doctor your last comments were a good turn of (read on) phase and may well help light up the New Year.

Certainly a good drop produced right throughout the Hunter these days, actually visited a vineyard on the way back from Korat last month quite interesting!

All that aside, advice checks out (never doubted it would L3 & DrP). "Visa" Like to offer comment once again on the friendliness and "nothing is a bother" attitude displayed by the staff at Royal Thai Consulate in Sydney.

No I am not on their payrole, but after reading of the goods (few & far ) and the BADS (many & many) its always nice to talk (deal) with nice people!! So Plaudits to the staff in Sydney and hopefully many happy returns from their "CUSTOMERS". CUSTOMERS is something many Government employees (of all countries) fail to comprehend and subsequently do their country (employer) a diservice.

All the best (off matchbox)
