Utah mom tries to sell daughter's virginity for $10,000

SALT LAKE CITY (BNO NEWS) -- A 32-year-old woman from Utah has been arrested by police after offering her 13-year-old daughter's virginity in exchange for $10,000, prosecutors said on Tuesday.

The woman has been charged with two felony counts of first degree aggravated sex abuse of a child and two felony counts of second degree sexual exploitation of a minor. BNO News will not name the mother to protect the victim's identity.

According to the Salt Lake County District Attorney's Office, the mother earlier this month offered her teen daughter's virginity to an older man identified only as "Don" who was willing to pay as much as $10,000.

Prosecutors said the victim initially agreed to her mother's plan and went with Don to a local Victoria Secret store. At the store, the mother took cellphone pictures of her daughter in lingerie while the girl posed for the potential buyer.

The victim later changed her mind and told her mother that she did not want to continue, but the mother nonetheless told Don that the deal was still on. In addition, the mother also sent the photos of her daughter - which included photos of the victim's bare buttocks - to another man only identified as "Will."

But the woman's plan came to an end when her boyfriend found the photos and text messages that described sex acts between the teen girl and an older man. The boyfriend then called Salt Lake City Police, which began an investigation.

It was not immediately clear if police would file charges against Will and Don, whose real or full identities were not released. The mother remains in jail on a $250,000 bail.
