I own my own company and appointed MD with my approved 1 year Non-B visa and WP.

If I want to do extra work as an employee of a separate company, I must have an additional separate visa and WP for the 2nd company.

Can I hold 2 visas and 2 WP?

My accounting office advise me that I must cancel/return my original visa and WP, leave the Kingdom and re-apply for a new Non- B for the new company.

This will entails that I cannot work anymore for my own/original company?

The 2 companies are separate entities and have no connection towards each other.

Any suggestions or comments.

Thank you in advance

You cannot have two visas at the same time (or two different permisison to stay).

That you work for your own company is no problem. You can have your new employer added to your current work permit if in the same area of labour office. If not, an extra WP should be possible.

Your first employer (your own company) should give written permission to add an extra employer to the work permit.

Contact the labour office.

Mario ---- THANKS!

I have a "second hat" as a director of a Thai financial institution and honestly never thought it would be that easy to deal with so I just ignored the potential liability there (minor, as my job description for my WP covers "extra duties as assigned" and the address of the Thai financial institution is the same as one of the addresses on my WP ..... but the second/third business card was bothering me ;) ) It is well worth the extra 3k for another WP to cover the business card !!

Should be no problem to add another employer on you Wp as long as it's in the same province and the fist employer agree..

And as said before, you can not have two visas/extension of stay.

:) Same office even ..... (for me!) so that does solve a (very) tiny risk ... My extension of stay was never an issue. I hope it works out for the OP (as in my case I honestly think I am covered without the second WP ... but I'll get it just the same ... it is basically a volunteer slot on the BoD of a Thai Credit Union --- handling member education about what CU's are and their benefits .. such as interest not being taxed ;) )

Thanks for your quick replies.

Unfortunately the 2 companies are not in the same province.

Will enquire about possible 2nd WP.

Will post the reply from labour office.

Simply make an annouincement that you are not working any more at your original company, and that you are merely overseeing your investment.

You may ovetrsee an investment and are allowed to attend meetings etc, without a work permit.... then basically, you move the bias to the other business arrangement, and apply your intention in the country as operating the business you are now applying a WP to

Final feed back after everything is done and dusted.

Mario was correct, labour office just added extra place of work in my current WP, although in a different province.

No changes to visa or ext of stay.

Thanks for all the advice and comments.
