May 26, 201115 yr Hi All I am off to Thailand soon to marry my girlfriend and i was wondering if i would get a o visa when over there or get it from the UK before marriage Thanks
May 26, 201115 yr A Non Imm O Visa will not be issued for visiting your girlfriend. From the information pack on the Hull website. Category “O” Married to a Thai national Evidence required: Copy of marriage certificate (in English). or Visiting family working/living in Thailand Evidence required: Birth/Marriage Certificate to show relationship plus letter from relative confirming they are in Thailand together with copy of valid entry visa in their passport or copy of valid work permit.. or Volunteer work Evidence required: Suitable letter from recognised charity. or Visiting Thailand as Pensioner Evidence required: Copy of bank statement showing receipt of pension. or Visiting Thailand as retired person aged 50 years and over Evidence required: Copy of bank statement showing income of minimum £900.00 per month. Once married you can get a single entry Non Imm O Visa in neighbouring countries. KL Maylasia will issue a Multi Entry is you have 100,000 Baht in a bank. Thai Immigration will issue a 12 month extension if you have 400,000 Baht in a Thai bank or 40,000 Baht monthly income.
May 27, 201115 yr As above. get a tourist visa to meet airline requirements and once married apply for the non-O (or convert at immigration).
May 27, 201115 yr The O visa can not be issued in Thailand except in the process for one year extension of stay (40k per month or 400k in bank 2 months) but you can extend tourist visa 30 days (or 60 days to visit wife) and non immigrant O is available from nearby Consulates if not extending and staying longer. For marriage all you need is the tourist visa (to fly without onward proof within 30 days).

May 27, 201115 yr If i don't have that money in my thai bank account only my uk acccount as i don't have a thai bank account as of yet thanks Come to Thailand on a tourist visa. Get married. Go back to UK and on your next return here get a non-O (no money in bank needed). You don't say if you intend to stay here, take her to UK or whatever, but this would give you a starting point.
May 27, 201115 yr If i don't have that money in my thai bank account only my uk acccount as i don't have a thai bank account as of yet thanks You can open a Thai bankaccount once in Thailand. After you get married you can go to any neighbouring country and get a single non-O visa. Once you have 400,000 in a Thai bank account in your name for 2 months you can apply for an extension of stay at immigration.
