Iran releases list of wanted US officials

2011-05-29 22:10:58 GMT+7 (ICT)

TEHRAN (BNO NEWS) -- The Iranian Parliament released a list of 26 US officials wanted by Tehran for various crimes, including rights violations and acts of terror, Press TV reported on Sunday.

The officials on the list include former FBI chief Thomas J. Pickard, who is wanted for human rights violations during his tenure as the CIA station chief in Afghanistan and Iraq in 2003, and the former commander of the US detention facility at Guantanamo Bay Geoffrey D. Miller, who is charged with torture of inmates.

Former Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld is also on the list for the killing of thousands of civilians in Afghanistan and Iraq. In addition, USS Vincennes Captain Will Rogers III will have sanctions imposed on him over the killing of 290 Iranian civilians onboard Iran Air Flight 655, which was shot down by the USS Vincennes on July 3, 1988.

Paul Bremer, the US administrator in Iraq from May 2003 to June 2004, and General Tommy Franks, who led the US invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq, are also on the list of US officials that the Iranian parliament plans to impose sanctions on.

According to the spokesman for the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Kazem Jalali, the motion to impose sanctions on and prosecute certain American officials was unanimously adopted.

I wonder how this plays out..... :coffee1:

i guess stupidity knows no limits.

I seriously doubt any of the people on the list have any desire to travel to Iran, as for the rest of the civilized world- has even less desire to listen to "Iran's sanctions" against US government officials.

If you scratch under the surface I suspect Iran is saying to the rest of the Arab world - look you can jerk the American's chain as much as you like they are weak and divided and will not follow through on any threats they make. In other words Obama's appeasement is threatening serious fallout in the middle east.

This will give the loons something to rally behind! :D

If I were the nut running Iran I would do a lot of stuff like this just to take little pokes at the Great Satan. You could have a lot of fun coming up with the many ways.

Many people may respond to your "If I were in charge, list" that the 'Great Satan' could be seen in the same light, as Santa Claus, returning Messiah, Easter bunny, etc.

If you are making reference to some country/government of the present world order, just go back in history and those countries/people with world domination/conquest aspirations, with time, and outside action, have all fallen from their high/low position.

One post deleted. This thread is about Iran and its list of wanted US government personnel. It is not about Obama per se, and it certainly isn't about Israel. Stay on topic or your posts will be deleted and you will receive a warning and suspension of posting ability.

They already tried to blow up Captain Rogers' wife, so I guess this is the best they can do.

It is just a silly, symbolic move which may play at home but will be a subject of ridicule elsewhere.

Of course, the West does essentially the same thing, but they often have the ability to put teeth into it.

Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.<--- Albert Einstein --->

Iran just demonstrates more of tits national insanity.
