My UK passport is now full after just over 2 years (the 48 page version), so I need to apply for a new one in Hong Kong. Problem is I am travelling a lot at the moment, and can't see when I will be home (here in Thailand) for a full 2 weeks for the application process.

I know I only need send a copy and can travel in the meantime, but I read on their website that as soon as the new one is issued, the old will be electronically cancelled, and therefore invalid. What happens if I am overseas at this point in time, then try to fly home and my passport is invalid?

Passport is in the Indonesian embassy for a work visa right now (another full page), which leaves me 1 page only - any ideas? Thanks.

Did mine recently, it took 3 weeks.

Would have taken longer had I not managed to hurry them.

Apply for a second passport, you'll need a letter from your employer stating your work and travel commitments, then you can travel as required while the second one is in getting processed for visa's....

Hi, I did think about that but dismissed it as my original will be unusable in a month or so as full. After I get my new one could I apply for another one straight away? Or apply for 2 at once?
