what is the best thing to quiet chain noise on my bike?

2. Correct tension

3. Ear plugs

4. Stubborn denial that the noise exists

1. Ensure that the chain is regularly cleaned, lubircated and adjusted to manufactrurers specifications

2. Ensure that your chain and sprockets are not worn out: chain stretch & excessive hollowing gaps 9from the chain rollers) between the sprocket teeth

I have had the bike a couple of weeks, when I bought it seems the ex owner put oil on the chain as there was a slight residual left on the rim, I would like to know the best type of lube for chains and preferably one that doesn't leave a black residue on the rim, perhaps something "new tec"

Don't know what bike the OP have, but I've noticed that Honda Phantoms have a very

noisy chain. Regardless if the bike is new or old.

I use a teflon based wax that sprays on. It doesn't go anywhere and looks white or grey. Does not seem to go black.

Ok. Will try it. I have a can of VELOIL non fling formula. A bit sticky, but after driving around and parking the bike, the next

day some of the stuff have found gravity. Maybe I was too generous when spraying.

I use Putoline engine oil & chain lube myself.

Is it an 'O' ring chain cos that makes a difference to what lube to use?

The teflon wax is about 500 baht for a big can. I figure it will last me a year or two.

How true, over there years with racing dragbikes and my friends, three stand out: RK, DID & REGINA. There are more out there but these I know off for strength, quality and reliability.

I picked up some Muc-Off chain cleaner and Chain lube from Panda Riders. Used them both on my bike the other day. Easy to apply with noticeable results.
