Hi! I am new to this website and appreciate any help I can get.

I am going to Thailand in December and am getting married in Koh Samui.

We first arrive in Bangkok to fill all the paperwork and then want to travel North to Chiang Mai.

After a few days exploring this region we want to fly directly to Koh Samui for the Wedding.

I have checked on the Thai Airways site and Bangkok Air and the cost for this flight is ridiculous!

It is more expensive than the cost of the flight from Melbourne to Bangkok!!

I was hoping someone knows of another airline that does this flight for cheaper than $250.

Also we do not really want to fly into Phuket as we are leaving from there.

Bangkok Air has a monopoly on that route as they own the airport on Samui.

A cheaper option would be Air Asia to Bangkok then Air Asia again to Surat Thanni.

From there a bus will be waiting to take you to the ferry port where you get the ferry to Samui.

There is no other airline that can fly u from Chiang Mai and land u on Koh Samui apart from Thai Airways and Bangkok Air.

Bangkok Air have flights on 18 days in December from Chiang Mai to BKK and on to Samui for $185us.

Or u can fly Chiang Mai to BKK with Air Asia the onto Samui with Bangkok Air for under $160.

you can always fly to surit thani,the boat to samui,or from surit thani,then bus to dunsak,then the ferry.

Foreigners should boycott bangkok air/samui

i would say you take flight to surat thani and then take bus to donsak pier then ferry to Koh samui

If you book Nok Air, they do Cm - Bangkok - Surat and supply the the bus tickets and catamaran as an all in package, Catamaran 45 mins ferry 1hr 45mins.
