Hi all.

I am in legitimizing myself as Father of my child in Thailand.

The Lawyer company is told me that I need "detective" in order to help locate her. Has anyone experience of this?

They have the hospital she born in and the place she now works and the area she lives.

The lawyers also have the address she moved to immediately after baby born.

Any help please?

why not minimize your expenditure somewhat?

go and see a bell captain of a 5 star hotel,

ask him to get you a taxi driver who can speak some english,

hire that driver for a day for about 1,200 thb plus gas which should be around another 600 thb.... totalling less than 2,000 thb....

which should be alot less than 10,000 thb or more per day for some other party to locate your ex....

if you do not wish to do the leg work yourself, then hire the detective for whatever you can afford, ok?

good luck.... remember to be kind and generous with her.... you are in the driver seat and your ex becomes someone with little or no value to you at the moment....

but do remember that you chose her to be by your side at least for a period of time....

try to think of her needs too.... ok? gone down that avenue before.... cheers.... B)

If you really know where she works, simply have a Thai call the office and say that they are trying to locate her. That she won some prize, that the mobile phone number she gave was illegible, and that she listed this as her work number. Even if all the office will do is agree to pass her a message, she will almost certainly call back. All Thais will bend over backwards to do something if they think they have won a contest. Then, before your contracted Thai party tells her the true nature of the call, you can get her address. It would be good form to give her the prize you say she won anyway. A prize of 5000 baht would be money well spent in this case.

This all assumes that you really do have her place of employment, and that she hasn't quit or moved on. If she has, all you have lost is a phone call and your most promising lead. In that case, a private investigator in the province where she was last known to live is probably the only way to go.

You do not need to locate the mother to legitimize your child at all. What you need is just enough for Juvenile court to open up a case and then they will summon the mother. You will be legitimized regardless of if the mother shows up or not, it will just take longer time if she doesn't

Now, are you registered as father on the childs birth certificate? Do you have a copy of the childs birth certificate? If your name is on the BC but you don't have a copy, then what you should ask the lawyer is how to get a copy of the BC. Police report that father has lost it and if you have full name of mother and day that child was born and in which hostpital, then the lawyer MAY get enough information from the hospital to take this to court without having located the mother first

If you have enough details about the mother (but not the location), then you can most likely open up a court case without having details of the child. Why? Because the child has the right to her father according to law

Copy of ID card of the mother is enough even

Good Luck
