I am a british national living in Bangkok. My wife is a Thai national. We have a 8 month old newborn son (british by decent)

We would like to stay with my family in the UK for August 2011.

We want to take our son to the UK to visit my mother (his grandmother)

Me, My Wife and our Son will be flying together.

My son is in the process of getting a british passport.

My wife has have a previous UK residence permit, now expired as we now live in Thailand.

What visa do i get for my wife? It shouldn't be difficult, we just want to visit my family for a month.

Any help would be fantastic.

Thank you.

I would apply for a Family Visit Visa, it has the same requirements as a standard visit visa, but, currently, has the right of appeal if the visa is refused.

Assuming you are indeed intending to stay in Thailand I would make sure that you advise the ECO of your future plans in Thailand, just in case they think that your wife intends to stay in the UK, I say this because your wife has previously lived in the UK and you have a child who is a UK Citizen, the ECO might put two and two together and make five.

we applied for the 2 year family visa, went through fine and visa was ready within 7 days.

Once this expires we will go for the 10 year one.

Thanks for all your advice
