Not Manilla, but we're in the right part of the world.

Yeah, it's the flora & fauna (on Scooter) oh and the power cables and tropical weathering on the church. What is throwing me is the flag that the flying god figure is carrying - it looks English.

Sorry for thinking out loud - I'll get back to you.

I reckon it may be the cathedral in Saigon/Ho Chi Minh City.

Notre Dame Cathedral.

Maybe not, too many utility wires around.

Was there in April.

Hmmmm...I don't think so, unless they made the church very dirty, recently... :o

I know I have seen it IRL.

Must be Vietnam, only other place would be in Hanoi.

HOWEVER.....

It's Hanoi after all and it's called:

St. Joseph Cathedral: :o

So, do you remember which Cathedral you visited ?

PS: you know how I found it ?

On the original photo you can see a few cars with license plates.....no other country in Asia has such license plates and I ended up in Vietnam (never been there...yet) :D

edit: I mixed up the names Hanoi and Saigon; sorry and if you wish, take your turn.

Wow, you've been up early gentlemen!

It is Hanoi indeed, and I'm told the cathedral has been cleaned this year (my picture is from 2006).

Looks like it's Zpete's turn, with his post just 3 minutes before LaoPo's.

Not that I care but I think you have a better look at my previous posts....I found the St. Joseph Cathedral in Hanoi and not our friend Zpete since he was in Saigon...

It took me a lot of cold sweat, tears and energy.... :o

LaoPo :D

Ha LaoPo, you put me in a cold sweat too! Maybe we need a photo finish...

I looked where the word Hanoi first appeared, and that was as a guess in Zpete's post, at 8:17:30. Hence my suggestion to give the turn to Zpete.

Must be Vietnam, only other place would be in Hanoi.

But at the same time, I'm the first to acknowledge that you were reaching the same conclusion with your post at 8:20:11, and even went the extra mile to include the facts and picture in support.

LaoPo

So, who should take the turn? :D

WOW, neva done this before........

So here goes.

Hope it works.

Pretty easy for many people I would say.

Sorry Zpete, this topic is called: "What's the City" and usually a part of a city is posted and not part of an (empty and small) airport without even a plane; just 2 cars....

It's not so much fun anymore...since there's nothing to guess or search as there are no leads whatsoever.

Maybe it's 'pretty easy for many people' but I think it's pretty difficult for MOST people.

Just IMHO

LaoPo does have a point - and we are not slagging-off at you - but it does seem a bit pointless us sitting here reeling off all the A/ports in S.E.Asia. How's about you let us know which piece of tarmac this is and then re-post a new picture with at least some obscure reference point or clue. Cheers Mate..... :o
