Given that a sex worker in the tourist scene charges roughly the same as a doctor or dentist at a posh Thai hospital would, I would love to hear if medical tourism is also exploitation, and if not, why not.

The question essentially becomes if sex is inherently more exploitive in nature than dental surgery, or getting a suit made. And if so, why.

( I've been in this discussion dozens of times, and the next counter argument is usually something like "but, but, would you rather be a dentist, or servicing some old fat bloke!" That argument tells a lot about the person's perception of sex, but not all that much about sex work in Thailand, or anywhere else. )
