You Never Know What Is Around The Corner

Featured Replies

Hello all. I have been living in Thailand now for nearly one and a half years. I recently started a thai language course which enabled me to have an ED visa. But I have come to find out that I have to return home to sort out a medical issue that will take up to two months or so. My ED visa will become invalid and so will the course after this duration of time, so can somebody drop a link or list of all visas and the regulations? I have looked on the consulate's website of my country and on the pinned threads here, but it has not helped much. I remember seeing a list a couple of months ago but have come to forget where it actually is, It had all of the visas and the requirements along with each way to obtain one, for example with the business visa you can either volunteer, have your own business or have a sponsor letter from a company who already wishes to employ you if I can recall. Any help would be appreciated,

Tom

For extensions of stay from Immigration

Is your language school not sympathetic to your case? I am also on an ED visa and go back to my own country for 4-5 weeks at one time every year. It means I miss a 5 week course but as long as you do 180 hours per year (or the school says you do), then it appears not be a problem. I just get a re-entry permit to keep my permission to stay active.

It appears however that you're saying that your course is up after a couple of months, so even if the school was amenable, it would be a case of whether you wanted to pay more fees to keep your existing visa or whether easier to just to get a new visa of some description. You could even get a new ED visa! Without knowing your personal circumstances or more details about how long you intend to stay, it's difficult to add any more re a different visa. Lopburi3 has posted the relevant links for that above.

Good luck.

hmm, thanks for the comments. I think they could probably sort something out at the language course, I will have to get in touch with them. I have been more occupied with thinking about getting back to get treatment.

I came across that information with lists of visas that I mentioned. This is what it states..
