hi guys, i need a bit of expert help please

i have a kenwood ddx7039 and a kenwood g520 GPS unit

the unit is a Uk unit and is preloaded with UK and ireland mapping

however it is compatible with the 7039 and currently displays location route has audio etc, in fact it does everything but display a map overlay

it has the arrow, which moves and directions and location etc

so simply put it does not have is any mapping at all

i have downloaded Thailand Street Map V11 NT (English) unlocked from a site as advised before by members on here but can't get it to load in the GPS unit

i have downloaded it into a GARMIN named folder and tried it

it did not load so i renamed the map inside it - gmapsupp.img as i have seen advised by some

it still does not work

i disabled the UK mapping via the menu

the unit has a micro USB port

i have a genuine garmin CD of thai mapping version 7.0 from an old nuvi unit

i tried to load that too but it did not work

the unit does not seem to read the SD card

my question is how can i get the unit to read the Thai mapping from the SD card?

any help would be appreciated

Make a GMAPSUPP.UNL file on your computer and copy & paste it into the Kenwood's garmin folder.

thanks for your response but i will need a little info more please

are you saying rename the file i have already ?

if not. how do i make this file or can i download it somewhere?

then do i add to th SD card Garmin file?

if not do i need to do this whilst its in the car with a notebook via the micro usb?
