Pheu Thai victory equates reconciliation: Thaksin

By The Nation

The vote cast for Pheu Thai reflects the voice of the people favouring reconciliation, ousted prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra said on Sunday in a telephone interview aired by Thai PBS an hour after the close of balloting.

"Pheu Thai is clear about seeking reconciliation," he said.

Thaksin attributed Pheu Thai's victory to the collective efforts by party ranks and not just his prodding.

He said he would not return to Thailand if his homecoming would stir up trouble. "I have no urgency to return and I won't want to cause trouble," he said.
