Re-Entry Permit/Retirement Visa

Featured Replies

I have had my 1 year retirement visa so called for some years now but i need to leave Thailand for the first time for a short stay in another country and would appreciate some input re the "re entry " permit:

1. I will apply for it at Chaeng Wattana BKK, can I get it on the same day or do I need to go back on another day?

2. I need to put certain departure and arrival dates in the application form for the re-entry permit; if my trip deviates from the dates given, will it make any difference?

3. If I pay for a multiple re-entry permit does that mean i can go out and back as many times as I want?

plus:

4. With a multiple do I need to inform the immigration of my trip dates each time?

5. So no need to do the 90 report as I understand it, and the 90 runs from my return to Thailand, correct?

6. anything else I should be aware of/wary of with the permit?

Thank you for any advice.

Same time issue. Dates not important and not required if you don't know. Multi is unlimited entry for the current permitted to stay period. 90 day address are only required if you are in country 90 days or more - entry is day one of count.

A multi-entry re-entry permit costs 3,800 THB, whereas a single-entry one costs 1,000 THB. So unless you see yourself exiting Thailand more than 3 times during your current permitted to stay period you're better off with single-entry permits IMHO.
