Is it easy to take your cats or dogs outside of Thailand when traveling in neighboring countries such as Cambodia, Laos or Vietnam or to The Philippines? Do they have to be quarantine? What happens to the dogs or cats if your visa renewal is refused? Can you still go back to Thailand to get your cats and dogs?

Thanks,

within 48h before departure you need health check (animal has to be present) at the airport and probably similar on land crossings.

on coming back you need rabies vaccination 21 days before entering (formally you need as well jabs for leptospirosis, distemper, hepatitis, parvovirus) and import papers (download from the net, fax/email back to them), on the border 100 baht fee. If customs are nasty, they can ask for 30% tax of the animals estimated value - cas/dogs usually valued 10h baht.

check for requirements for the other countries.

the other problem are airlines, might be much more pain and cost, than officials
