I know that there usually was a cap on about 20K for an ATM withdrawal with a Visa/Master card from abroad for most Banks in Thailand but when needed a greater amount it was possible to do so from a credit card terminal inside the bank is that still possible?

If the above still is possible what about the 150 Baht fee, I mean if you pay a 150 Baht fee for withdraw 20K how do they calculate that if withdraw 150K?

Thanks!

40000 Baht is the limit for one go at Aeon (in addition they dont charge the 150 Baht) , some banks limit to 25000 Baht most 20.000 Baht. However no limit I have yet encountered if you withdraw several times at eeven the same bank. Most of the times the credit card has a limit of daily withdrawal amount. Go and talk to your bank and increase the amount for a given timeframe or on a continous basis.

Hope I could help!

In my experience you can walk into any larger branch of Bangkok Bank and the yellow bank (forgot name of that one) and present your card and passport and they will process it for you for any amount the card has available. ( I have withdrawn 100k + with no problems)Your card issuer will charge you for the transaction the same as they would if you made a purchase in a store etc.

That's correct. The Bangkok Bank branch at Asoke (Exchange Tower) is a good one to try (but limit 100k per time). In my experience, UOB (several branches) - 50k (maximum), Siam Comercial Bank 100-200k depending on the staff and branch. For larger ammounts 500k+, you can try at some Bangkok Bank money exchange counters, though they don't always have enough cash.

Withdrew some money today with my visa card (debit card) from abroad and was first to Bangkok Bank where I have an account, they use the old imprint system when the amount is over 100K so I said nicely no thank you and went to Kasikorn Bank where they use the credit card terminal type. Unfortunately they did it in two transactions but did not charge anything. However the bank home will for sure. When I asked why they did not only made one transaction I got a vague answer as if they were not sure if that was possible. Before I went out I asked if there could be possible to withdraw 300k in one transaction with a Credit Card as for example Master Card and then, yes do you want! :D
