My visa is expiring today, but the immigration bureau in Chaeng wattanna was closed.

Am I right to think my visa will be expired tomorow, despite this being '' their fault' for being closed ?

The only problem will be a lot of people. But you must do it first day open after a holiday.

Should do it before holiday - you do not lose any days for extending early, but could lose baht if done late !!!
