A Thai Friend of mine mentioned the other day that she was living in a house in a small soi that belong to the King.

She pays very little for which to appear a quite big town-house on several levels, in central Bkk near the MRT.

I was wondering if these houses were for Thais only or do they accommodate farangs too .

I am in a condo right now, and really I can't say I like it.

I mean it's convenient, clean, secured, modern and everything but I feel blocked up.

It has "no soul", no charm, and except if I look at the window, the inside of my actual flat could be anywhere in the world, the walls are white plaster panels, my furniture are identical, as the rest of all the others apartments, it feel like a hospital or an upgraded student residence, and above all you are disconnected from the outside. I do have a balcony but it's only used for laundry.

I have been looking at some sois around my house, and I've seen so many great thai terrace houses. I mean the inside looked a bit gruesome to me (dark and often filthy) but I could clean it out... Also I found the infinities of variations of the 3 level terrace house amazing, plants, balconies, patios, vivid colours, . They are really open to the soi, with a ground floor without front wall, children are playing, old folks are napping, plants are everywhere, they have decent balconies on each upper floor. everything is human size. it has life and it feels like you are actually in thailand

Anybody else feels like me?

I never seen a farang in ones of these. Is that just because they don't like it or because they are just not allowed ?
