Hello guys,

I am thinking of applying for Uk family viistor visa for My Thai for 2 weeks. I am disabled and get Income support + DLA and have a saving of £1000 in bank, What is the likelyhood of getting the visa for my thai wife? appreciate any advice

You need to show that she will be adequately maintained and accommodated during her visit, without recourse to public funds. Finances for this can come from the income and/or savings of you, her, a third party or any combination of these. Whoever is contributing toward the cost will also need to show that they can afford to do so, and if a third party say why they are doing so.

Any public funds you are already claiming for yourself are not a problem, as long as you do not claim any extra while she is in the UK with you.

Your bigger problem, as I see it, is persuading the entry clearance officer that your wifenis just visiting you in the UK and will return to Thailand once the visit is over. You will need some strong arguments.

Thank you 7by7 for your advice

All the money that I have come from public funds and no third party to help. will that be an issue ?

I have no problem when it comes to accomadating her and she has a property in her name and a job to return to.

As long as your income is sufficient to cover all the costs of her visit, it matters not where it comes from (provided it's legal! :shock1: ). Obviously you can use your savings, too.

As she has a job, then presumably she is able to contribute toward the cost of the visit.
