Ha ha - yes I am looking for something local. :)

Thanks Tywais. I've contacted that company. And if that doesn't work or is too expensive I'll try and track down my own helium - I think there is a gas supplier on Chiang Moi.

Beware though that they are usually in fact hydrogen balloons, not helium, if you source them locally. Hydrogen is a lot cheaper, have fun popping them with a cigarette butt. And who cares about the fire or two...

I searched up and down Chang Moi some time ago for handy helium cannisters without success. This was on the recommendation of a TV poster on a previous thread on this subject.

If you do find any outlets here or anywhere please post again. I feel certain such things are not available in Chiang Mai though someone usually comes along to dispute that.

I ended up finding gas cylinder supply shops on the 1006 Road. (Charoen Mueang Road). There are one or two located about 2kms. from the Nawarat Bridge, up the 1006, on the right hand side going out of Chiang Mai and a little way before the SuperHighway. They have large blue cylinders about 5ft. tall. Hydrogen and (I think) Helium. No handy little cannisters though.

I think the Engineering Dept. of CM University might have accurate information.

I saw a sign on the Kathu side of Patong Hill today advertising them if that helps

I know that no one has posted on this forum for a while, but Patong is near where I will be when I wanted to hire the helium, do you know anything more about the place/what's it called etc?

Any help at all would be great =)

There was a man who was selling helium ballons at our Wat a few days ago in Mae Hoi Ngurn. I bought one for my grandson. I have a swimmer that I wanted to fill and was told he doesn't bring his tank to small shows as his sales aren't great. He did say he'd be at the Wat up the street that is having a big todo the 1st through the 5th and he might bring the cylinder then. He mentioned he lives in Lampang if I wanted to drive down. As grandson is only 4 I might pass on filling it, he used the ballon I got him to kick and punch so it's barely off the ground now. Little rascal.
