3G And Wifi

Featured Replies

Hello.

another topic I was trying to find out about was local 3G and WIFI access. It seems that 3G is available here (and HSDPA) but then why are there 3G auctions going on in Thailand? doesn't make sense to me.....

Anyway, just considering the ISP's and Internet access, and maybe a USB 3G or WIFI dongle could be a good option. Looks like there is free WIFI everywhere, does anyone use it? I don't want to pay an ISP if there's already a free alternative. On a related note, I popped into McDonalds the other day and asked if I could use the free WIFI (as there is a sign outside advertising the fact) and they had no idea about it! made me laugh....

Thank you.

The 3G in Thailand is not a genuine 3G transmission as they use the wrong frequence.

AIS in Phuket is launching 900Mhz 3G all over Phuket in 3 days. 1,8/10Mb speed tests so far. Phuketgazettedotnet
