bangkockney
Exactly, being held on remand is not the same thing as jailed for terrorism. Sensationalist headlines like this do nothing but fan the flames. He was never jailed for terrorism? The terrorism case has not been heard yet. He was jailed for breaching his bail conditions relating to the terrorism charge.

pepi2005
Amazing Thailand indeed ... but then, to be honest, I didn't expect otherwise. Only the "Tourism Authority of Thailand" is continuously surprised on "why so many criminals are attracted to Thailand"! And by the way, the 'mastermind of the convicted suspected criminals / terrorists' (oh well, but then in his case, actually really convicted! ) has yet to be endorsed as a MP ... or well, I would guess ... be given a much higher position in government! rossigee
Nice BIASED Headlines. I wonder if anyone checked the archives for news flashes and see if a headline about 2 years ago might say something like ... "MP Apisit Lost Election, Now Presiding as Thai PM Through His Networks & Nepotism" You speak of nepotism when the new government PM is the ex-PM's sister? Get a life. 555 - well put! hbullinger
Will Jatuporn be collected from and returned to prison for every session of parliament and will this happen in a chauffeur driven limousine or in a prison van? Will the war on terror never reach Thailand?

animatic
Well the real point is, does hes NOW instated MP Immunity, put a stop to existing and commenced Trials for Terrorism and get him sprung from jail, using his MP status as collateral? This is a different bunch of legal authorities to intimidate, the EC remembering Arismans invasion of their offices bassed the buck. Though the will also let the committee dawdle over his party membership.

Get a life, it's the same thing, the army just saying 'stop the violence' and we give you another shot, but don't go after us or the deals off. No doubt the depth of silent sentiment against this turn of events is MUCH higher than those that post actively, and dwarfs the attempts to make it appear other wise. Babcock
Believe it or not but Thailand's photo of the year awards 2009, presided over by abhisit himself, was awarded to a still taken at the end of the event shown in the .flv attached video file. Caption read something like Ding Dang resident, fed up with redshirts, vents his his anger with a woman redshirt kneeling at his feet. Camera bag was removed from photo. Has anyone got the photo? I have it somewhere. This was propoganda Goebels would have been proud of. No upload! Edited August 1, 2011 by Babcock
templedog
PLEASE....YOU NEED TO MAKE SOME INTELLIGENT DISTINCTIONS WHEN SAYING THAT. a man in prison is elected an MP - that is really the way to impress the rest of the world and to ensure true justice for its citizens (the poor ones ) ??????? Perhaps a page is being taken from the rest of the world? Northern Ireland and South Africa are just two places from 'the rest of the world' that spring quickly to mind where an interred 'terrorist' has ended up as MP, even president I'm sure historically minded TV members will add to this list. Could it be that one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter?
