Red Shirt Jatuporn Jailed For Terrorism Endorsed As MP

Exactly, being held on remand is not the same thing as jailed for terrorism.

Sensationalist headlines like this do nothing but fan the flames.

He was never jailed for terrorism?

The terrorism case has not been heard yet. He was jailed for breaching his bail conditions relating to the terrorism charge.

That might be a "Thaivisa" headline. But we love flames here, don't worry

Amazing Thailand indeed ... but then, to be honest, I didn't expect otherwise.

Only the "Tourism Authority of Thailand" is continuously surprised on

"why so many criminals are attracted to Thailand"!

And by the way, the 'mastermind of the convicted suspected criminals / terrorists' (oh well, but then in his case, actually really convicted! ) has yet to be endorsed as a MP ... or well, I would guess ... be given a much higher position in government! <_<

Maybe Jatuporn will become the minister of the "Tourism Terrorism Authority of Thailand".

Nice BIASED Headlines. I wonder if anyone checked the archives for news flashes and see if a headline about 2 years ago might say something like ... "MP Apisit Lost Election, Now Presiding as Thai PM Through His Networks & Nepotism"

You speak of nepotism when the new government PM is the ex-PM's sister? Get a life.

555 - well put!

Quite right sharing opinion, but then you take it a stage further and declare it as a majority (very small indeed on the forum) opinion, Maybe you got your poll wrong

Don't need to do a poll - it is obvious that more posters see this as a bad thing for Thailand's democracy than those trying to defend it!!!

Is it really that amazing??? The sister of a terrorist and thief got elected as PM, and they don't hide how they scoff the law. Remember, birds of a feather flock together....

Ok, please enlighten us as to which convicted criminal was pardoned and endorsed as an MP in Britain, US, Australia, Canada or New Zealand?

We're waiting!

Why not? Why so many slamming Thailand over this? It's not like our home countries haven't allowed evil people to run things.

Nick Griffin has past convictions and is an MEP.

Pretty much all the top Shin Fein boys: Kelly, McCann, Maskey, Lynch, Chulin, Anderson......many more. Need I go on?

Not at all! Its only the hardcore TV elite-loving posters only who see it as so bad for democracy!

The rest of us think its normal Thai politics, and many think that anything will be better than the

Previous military sponsored government

Well the real point is, does hes NOW instated MP Immunity,

put a stop to existing and commenced Trials for Terrorism

and get him sprung from jail, using his MP status as collateral?

This is a different bunch of legal authorities to intimidate,

the EC remembering Arismans invasion of their offices bassed the buck.

Though the will also let the committee dawdle over his party membership.

They only stay in with tacit military sponsorship.

Get a life, it's the same thing, the army just saying

'stop the violence' and we give you another shot,

but don't go after us or the deals off.

No doubt the depth of silent sentiment against this turn of events

is MUCH higher than those that post actively,

and dwarfs the attempts to make it appear other wise.

Believe it or not but Thailand's photo of the year awards 2009, presided over by abhisit himself, was awarded to a still taken at the end of the event shown in the .flv attached video file.

Caption read something like Ding Dang resident, fed up with redshirts, vents his his anger with a woman redshirt kneeling at his feet. Camera bag was removed from photo.

Has anyone got the photo? I have it somewhere.

This was propoganda Goebels would have been proud of.

No upload!

PLEASE....YOU NEED TO MAKE SOME INTELLIGENT DISTINCTIONS WHEN SAYING THAT.

a man in prison is elected an MP - that is really the way to impress the rest of the world and to ensure true justice for its citizens (the poor ones ) ???????

Perhaps a page is being taken from the rest of the world?

Northern Ireland and South Africa are just two places from 'the rest of the world' that spring quickly to mind where an interred 'terrorist' has ended up as MP, even president :whistling:

I'm sure historically minded TV members will add to this list.

Could it be that one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter?

Hi Animatic , would you agree that the EC is now an ineffectual toothless tiger after this little stunt?

Nothing strange here. Kasit also wanted on terrorism charges became Foreign Minister.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Kasit isn't actually charged with terrorism, is he, and he became FM before he was charged with anything relating to the airport protests.

Really? Let's start at the top. Google 'George Bush war crimes'. Tony Blair was his cohort on this. Bubba and klan weren't convicted of anything, but they should have been, thus making it worse. Their power kept them safe.

George and Tony weren't and are still not convicted criminals.
